Christine Babington Smith
Christine started her career at Carat UK where she was the broadcast media planner-buyer on the Nissan, Glenmorangie and Miller Brewing accounts. She moved client-side to British Telecom’s marketing team, where she managed BT’s roster of media buying agencies and advised on media buying strategy. She was recruited by Austrian start-up ucpag.com to lead the £8m UK marketing launch of social media startup uboot.com. She then went on to be a founding team member of glam-net.com: an e-commerce start-up targeting the affordable luxury market. Christine has studied marketing strategy, research and information and marketing communications with the CIM. She has just completed an MBA course at Heriot-Watt Business School on Creativity & Entrepreneurship, achieving an A with Distinction. Christine also gained a certificate of excellence in the Think Like A Brand: Personal Branding for Entrepreneurs UMC course at Heriot-Watt University. She has lived in Italy and speaks fluent Italian. When she has time she blogs for the Huffington Post, Women’s Enterprise Scotland and We Are The City. Christine is a member of BIMA (British Interactive Media Association).
Jo has a web design background at Omnicom and Havas agencies. During her 20 years in marketing she has worked with many financial clients including the Accenture brand launch, Tesco Bank launch, Zurich Financial Services and Espirito Santo Investment Bank. Other notable projects Jo has worked on include BP’s rebranding and the BMW MINI launch. Jo is also a former Director of Women in Marketing, an organisation that aims to empower women through the cycle of their lives. Jo is a CIM post graduate qualified marketer who lectures and tutors on marketing communications, social media and digital marketing. Megan has worked in women’s magazines since 2006. She was Features Editor of Best magazine and headed up the Your Life section of its website Best Daily. She took a two-year break from women’s magazines to be Deputy Editor of local independent news group Southwark Newspaper Ltd. Whilst there she launched and edited the Lambeth Weekender news and events paper, along with its online content and social media. Previously she was Commissioning Editor at Woman magazine and Feature Writer at Chat. Megan now writes digital content for diverse clients including the University of Cambridge. She continues to publish articles in the press including the Daily Mail, the Daily Mirror, Red and Grazia.
Caroline is a PR professional with 11 years experience gained at premium food and drinks brands. She started her career at Citigate Dewe Rogerson before moving to Sainsbury’s consumer PR team. She then landed an enviable role working as International PR Manager for William Grant & Sons, whose brands include Glenfiddich, Grants and Hendricks gin. Recently she has been working with Chivas Brothers on their international brands and corporate communications.
